Plain English: Toby is a logging tool, not a vet. Your data lives with you, so backups are yours to make — we are not responsible for loss of data. Be kind, use good judgment, and give your pet a scratch from us.

1. What Toby is

Toby is an app for keeping records about your pets — meals, medications, symptoms, and anything else you choose to track. By using the app you agree to these terms.

2. Not veterinary or medical advice

Nothing in the app — entries, charts, summaries, reports, or anything produced by on-device intelligence — is veterinary or medical advice. It's a record of what you logged, organized to be useful. Always consult a veterinarian about your pet's health, and in an emergency contact a vet immediately rather than consulting an app.

3. Your data, your backups — we are not responsible for loss of data

Your data is stored on your device and, if you enable it, in your own iCloud account. We never have a copy (see the privacy policy), which also means we cannot recover data for you.

We are not responsible for loss of data, period. That includes — but isn't limited to — loss from deleting the app, a lost or broken device, iCloud sync issues, failed shares or transfers, software bugs, or anything else. The app includes export tools; please use them regularly to keep your own backups.

4. Intelligence can make mistakes

Voice transcription and on-device parsing are helpful but imperfect. The app always shows you what it understood before saving — reviewing and correcting entries is on you, and what you save is what the record says.

5. Apple services

Syncing and sharing depend on Apple's iCloud service and your Apple account being in good standing. We're not responsible for the availability or behavior of Apple's services. If you got the app from the App Store, Apple's standard licensing terms also apply.

6. As-is, no warranties

The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the app.

7. Changes

We may update these terms as the app evolves; the current version will always be posted here with its effective date. Using the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
